Our task in this project was clearly defined: to restore the weathered and dull paintwork of the S-Class to its former glory. The original paintwork was to be preserved as far as possible in order to maintain the value of the vehicle. This presented us with a particular challenge, as preserving the original condition was our top priority.
The challenge:
Preserving originality
The biggest challenge with this project was preserving the original paintwork while removing unsightly car wash scratches and holograms. Each step had to be carried out with extreme precision and care to ensure that the paintwork remained in its original condition.
Paint correction:
65 hours of perfection
The paint correction was undoubtedly the most time-consuming part of this project. In a total of 65 hours of work, we managed to remove 99.9% of the scratches and holograms without damaging the original paintwork or removing any unnecessary paint. This required not only special tools and materials, but also a trained eye for detail.
The shine: Highly polished and preserved
After meticulous paint correction, it was time to polish the paint to a high gloss. The result was breathtaking as the classic car presented itself in all its glory. To protect the freshly polished paintwork and maintain its shine in the long term, a ceramic coating was applied. This not only ensured long-lasting brilliance, but also protected the paintwork from environmental influences and dirt.
The glamour of days gone by: chrome parts polished to a high shine
Our attention to detail doesn't stop at the paintwork. All chrome parts on the Mercedes S-Class have been carefully polished to a high shine and also coated with a protective layer of ceramic. The result? A classic car that looks like new, not only in terms of its paintwork, but also in terms of its details and trim.
The added value:
A pleasing result
At the end of this complex project, our dedication to detail paid off. Before the restoration, the customer had had a valuation report drawn up to estimate the value of the classic car. After our work, the vehicle had increased in value by an impressive EUR 20k, mainly due to the original paintwork, which had been preserved in all its beauty.
The restoration of this classic car was not only a challenge, but also a labor of love for us. We are proud to have contributed to restoring this gem of automotive history to its full glory and increasing its value. It shows once again how proper care and restoration can allow a vehicle to shine in all its beauty over the years.
